Task one:

With the partner that has been chosen for you by NASA you will be researching about the planets in our solar system. Your first part of the mission is to fill out the Inspiration template found in the link below. You can find your information from the website links below.

Once you have completed this first task, you will then complete a poster about one of these planets. To find out which planet you will be reasearching you must look on your cards that were given to you at the start of the mission. On this card you will find a picture of one of the planets, this is the planet you will be researching today. You will place your research about the planet on a poster (the link is found below!) so you can report back to your fellow astronauts about the planet. These posters will be posted up around NASA headquarters.

Good luck with your first challenge!!!

Well done astronauts you have now completed your first task!
Using what you have learnt on your first task, you will create a Powerpoint with your astronaut partner about your chosen planet. You will need to include all the important information in your Powerpoint. You can use the information you gathered in the Inspiration mind-map, the planet poster or by using the links above from the first task. Your powerpoint should be at least 4 slides long. Remember to include photos and make your powerpoint colourful!
Once this Powerpoint has been completed you will report back to NASA headquarters and present your Powerpoint.

Good luck astronauts!!

Well done!!! Thanks to your wonderful Powerpoint presentation, NASA is confident with your knowledge about the planets. You have been invited by NASA to go on a rocket to discover a mystery planet. Using Spider scribe you will write about your discovery of the mysterious planet.
The information NASA wants to know about the planet includes:
- The size of the planet
- The atmosphere and gases on the planet
- The colour and features of the planet such as are there any rings or moons
- And special things that you might find on the planet.
We also want you to draw a picture of your planet. This picture will be scanned and included into the Spider Scribe.
You have also been given the special honour of naming the mystery planet!
Use your imagination and creativity to make the best planet you can dream of!
When you arrive back to NASA headquarters you will explain your findings to your astronaut partners.

Warning: You may find aliens living on your mystery planet!

Task four:

NASA's department of tourism has been having trouble with getting people to travel to the new mystery planet. Because you were the first person to discover the planet, NASA wants you to create a 5 minute advertisement about your planet and why people from planet Earth should visit the mystery planet. You will use the video recorder to record your advert and you will also use the iMovie software to edit your advertisement and to add sound effects. You will be placed into groups to help each other with the equipment, your teacher will show you how to use the equipment and will give you a demonstration. Once you have created your advert it will be shown to the NASA board of Tourism. If you create the most exciting advert you will be awarded the most prestigious Space Discovery Award which will be presented to you by NASA.

Good luck with your mission!!
